Traditional Art / Paintings / Sci-Fi

This was originally part of my Nugator final major project last year, but due to time constraints didn't get finished, and languished as a sketch until recently. A while ago I started finishing up all my WiPs lying around on paper, and this was the first one to be completed.

Because it didn't have to fit so strictly into the Nugator aesthetic, I took the opportunity to play with a colour scheme very different from that originally intended (bluish, like the rest

).

The candles were a bitch to paint.

Very nice and very creepy, the slight, almost forced smile along with those empty eyes give it a weird side affect, as though it's capable of causing you serious harm and death before you even know.

I watched a documentary on geiger's work before hand so that might have influenced me a little, the idea of anything odd or alien being a threat.

Possibly, but I like the idea of alien = threat. It's so obvious but such a subconscious thing that one doesn't think about it.
