So. . . I finally feel like I'm shaking off the crippling inertia of artists-block. The past few weeks I've felt artistically crippled. . . I know this isn't my best, but I just feel pleased to be able to paint properly again.
I do though, think there are some parts of this that are more competent that I've managed before; the improved watercolour techniques in the background on the right being the main one (compare to a very similar painting from a short while ago ---> [link] ). I thought the best way to execute this idea was two separate images together on one sheet of paper. It's the same two mooncalves in both images. Acrylic on paper - 61 by 43cm / 24 by 17" I'll be submitting each image individually in the near future, so's you can see more detail and stuff. Oh yeah, the gun - as per usual - is real, tell me what it is and you get a mega-cookie or a cup-cake. Sketch - [link] Info - [link] Commentsas usual, your images manage to make me cry.
you put so much care into the actual emotions of teh characters. -- Member of Toku-Justice, showing the toku love. Creator of www.japan-legend.com I see what you mean, your attention to detail especially with water effects and skin tone is wonderful. I think these two work well along side each other rather than split up as it gives a rather macbre feel, but I think this works exceptionally well, especially coupled with the poses mirrored alongside the extremely different situations.
