One of two illustrations I did for a local bar's burlesque event poster. Unfortunately the event was cancelled so they've not seen the light of day until now. :crying: 

Images were reffed. I deliberately avoided giving her a Barbie-type body because that's not what burlesque is about. :meow:

I like how you haven't given this one a barbie-type body. It's good to approach it in a way that challenges preconceived notions. :nod:

Shame that it hasn't seen the light of day until now, but I really like the harshness of the body, yet also the femininity displayed through the boots and other things you have included.

Yea, it was a bit of a bummer... would have been fun to attend too. :p

Ta, that's kinda the whole thing about burlesque (if I'm getting the concept right); it's about how being sexy and erotic is more about confidence than appearance.

That would make sense. I imagine a few people have other notions of it, but you've depicted a good version of burlesque. :nod:
