Capirussa by CrimsonMagpie Capirussa by CrimsonMagpie
Entry for !Vlei's Mythical Blind Date contest. :B

He gave me the Capirussa to illustrate, this is the Monsterpedia entry that !Vlei linked me to;

Capirussa is a creature which was supposed to live in Indie (now Indonesia), but was once seen in the Meuse River at Brielle (Brill), The Netherlands.
Etymology

The name could be a corruption of Caperisca, a small goat-like creature. Another possibility could be a corruption of Capripus, meaning goat's foot.
Description

A female beast with a human face, a collar of jester's bells, pointed flappy ears as those of a hound, goatlike paws and a dog's plumy tail.

Of the images I found some depicted her/it as like a quadruped with a human face, some as like a centaur, and some like a faun. . . I chose to depict her like a centaur, because I got to give her two sets of boobies!!! :dummy:

I've not-so-subtly hinted at her Indonesian origin and Dutch prevalence in my depiction, and for some reason I imagined her as being somewhat cheeky. :giggle: Her markings are inspired by the okapi, which I do know is African, I just wanted to do it. :P

I've never heard of the creature and I live in the Netherlands. I do like how she turned out. Looks very cheeky indeed.

I'm not shoving enough money to dA to be allowed to critique properly however I did notice that her lower face is a bit odd. A bit crooked like she's once broken her jaw or something.

It's as if you drew me. In the form of a goat/dog/okapi/centaur tribal lady-woman-jester ofcourse. :o

(Yes, I have a crooked jaw. Is the crux of the last bit my post yet I don't think it's very understandable.)

It's not very well known at all, I could barely find any info on it, even after hours of searching. =p

I see what you mean about her face. I'm actually terribly bad at getting my character's faces to line up properly. :B Pffff, I'm sure you're much prettier than this character here, and I don't think you have four boobs either. :evileye:

No. No I do not.

I've got two hairy moobs tho. And my jaw's crooked due to me breaking it as a baby. :B

You've definitely been making advances on shading, textures and colouration, really like how you combine them all into one piece.

Is it a wrong windmill? :paranoid:

I like that, it makes her look kind of cheeky.

I just thought it was fun to see one appear in a picture background like that, it reminds me of typical dutch
