Last autumn I was invited to the quarterly independent Brooklyn newspaper Thunk. Check them out here, they have all issues online too [link] :meow:

This is one of the images I painted them, which was used in the December issue. A comment on the often seen hypocrisy of people who decry illegal drugs.

Whilst researching reference for the beer bottles I saw how popular 'lite' beers are in the USA. What is the attraction of such piss-water over real beer? :noes:

Well done. Plenty of illegal drugs are equally or less harmful than legal ones. The motivation for making a drug illegal isn't purely an issue of health, it's usually about money. Drugs have the potential to do bad things as well as good things.

Great illustration and great message.

The thing is people like that don't realize that alcohol and cigarettes (nicotine) ARE harmful, addictive drugs; they're just legal.

Besides, beer and cigarettes are nasty. Beer reeks of rusty piss while cigarettes are burnt ash :puke:

Here's another idea: "Legalize pot, man! It doesn't make you violent or nothin'!"
*is oblivious of the vicious drug war in Mexico*

How about this?
"They should stop the war on drugs. It's so counter-productive."
*snorts another line of coke*

Aaargh, it annoys the hell out me :crash:

Yup, that's the gist of it. =p

Here in the UK some government body (that the government doesn't like much) compiled a list of the most dangerous and damaging drugs in order, and both alcohol and nicotine were up in the top ten, possibly the top five. Heroin was obviously #1, but alcohol was #2, above crack and the like.

I understand that. In the U.S., alcohol is ranked among the top when it comes to harmful substances. Not to mention cigarette use is a leading cause of death, too(aside from heart disease & obesity).
