A little something I painted for my sister's birthday. :meow:

I'd never actually painted grass before; it was hard... even David Shephard says it's ruddy hard. More than anything, the whole thing was really an excuse to try painting an Alpine meadow. :bucktooth:

Acrylic on paper, 29.7 x 42cm / 11.7 x 16.54"

Extremely impressive. I was highly surprised that this was a traditional painting instead of an actual digital one.

The colors look really vibrant, not to mention that they are contrasted very well. The amount of detail in this painting is pretty stunning too. Amazing job. :)

Really? =p I think vibrancy is more a case of contrast and tone than anything else, and having a scanner at one's disposal. Hopefully I've improved since painting this though. :meow:

I haven't yet had the pleasure of having an excuse to draw an Alpine meadow. I suppose I should try and come up with one.
The background and main focus of this is beautiful. I love how calm she looks. :)

They're hard, grass is a difficult thing to paint. Thank-you, although I do think I ballsed the meadow right up. . . it should be much flatter, it looks too corrugated.

This is just gonna look like another cheesy comments, but this is just spot on. You have my watch! I keep checking in on your work, and my oh my, arent you getting better day by day.

The lighting details are what really catches my eye. Of course along with the textures, (fuzzy hat, soft snow), the awesome details (jaysus, thats some amount of flowers!) and the general feeling of it.

Come to think of it, it sort of reminds me of Bianca from The Rescuers. Is that indended?

Anyway, great job dude.

Wai, thank-you so much! :glomp:

Don't worry about sounding cheesy, the fact you took the time to write such a comprehensive comment is well appreciated. I'm rubbish at writing more than "Awesome" or such like. . .

Thanks, I do try to get the details right, the flowers took a long time. . . althought they are just blobs of paint, even in the foreground. :bucktooth:

The resemblence to Bianca was not intentional, but I am very heavily influenced by her appearance and the western/disney style of anthro drawing.
