At the start of term there was a college trip to the Newlyn art gallery, which was hosting an exhibition of inspirational miscellanea at the time. There was one exhibit that really inspired me; a series of (real) insects encased in little cylinders of clear resin, they had their heads replaced with tiny, stylised human heads made of white clay, and were called Reject Units. I feel terrible for forgetting the artist's name. . . :C
I'd love to make some sort of series based around them, as it found it to be a wonderful and inspirationally evocative visual device.
I tried to make the face androgynous, but I don't know why I made it so mask-like, it just seemed right at the time.
Now every time I go to swat a bug I'll have this piece stuck in my head. very cool and excellently done, but weard when stuck in your head while swatting at a bee. Funny, it's my favorite- the funky beeman from outerspace. he's cool
well that's cool-you should've went with the psychic thing, would'v gone great for boosting your artwork and all. made you perhaps famous, all the talk of DA. but NO you had to be all honest and blow it. Don't say I didn't try to help you out, man. I hafta ask(off the subject I know)you what exactly caused you to name yourself 'CrimsonMagpie'? Is it from a book or something of that sort?
