Okay, so this is the first painting I've done that I was really pleased with. I feel I'm now finally beginning to achieve artistically the high degree of realism & vividness that I've always strived for.

I know there are anatomical inaccuracies and so forth but, nyeh.... :P

I don´t exactly think someone´s gonna look for fine anatomic details in THIS pic so much...

That'd because they aren't there; I hadn't gotten the hang of them at the time of painting this.

Oh I rather meant because there´s a goat-human hybrid painfully vomiting blood on that pic if you look closely.
It´s quite distracting.

Everything basically... just about every part of her body is incorrect. =p

I mention a mooncalf in my latest book project, a Casper fan-fic titled "Divergence" the 11th in the series, and after a four-year burn-out/writer's block. Work started only when the block finally began to lift. Even so there may be mistakes to be corrected.

I define mooncalves as huge, dubiously shaped beasts that are kept on farms -on the far side of the moon ! I wonder if the people can visit earth, as our gravity and air density may be too much for them !

I think the beauty of the word 'mooncalf' is it's versatility. Although, your definition is much closer to the original meaning than mine; I only use the word because it fitted with the appearance of these creatures, it was meant to be an interim name for them until I made up something better, but it's stuck fast now.

I believe Bob Eggleton did a fantastic painting of mooncalves similar to what you describe. c:
