This is a revision of an old pencil drawing from when I'd just discovered Alan Lee. Aside from his huge influence it's inspired by fairytales/myths and the wonderful landscape of Dartmoor.
I used just four colours on the whole thing, all mixed beforehand so I could work wet-in-wet without having to stop (my normal modus operandi when painting is to mix as I need). I also used just one brush.
Wow, you really suck at this. The colours are pretty decent, you haven't messed them up, I must say the way you incorporated the water into the stone is not that bad, it gives the painting a dampy look (See, new word! ) and I also don't completely hate the way the trees get lost into the stone giving it a brownish tint. I hate to say this but I sort of like, although not LIKE like, the shadowing and lighting on the rocks, especially on the face area, actually one the center face cause I notice another one on the left. The foggy trees in the back aren't horrible either, they make the painting look bigger and they also focus the attention on the centre of the painting. To conclude, if I found this laying on the street I might pick it up and give it a better look, but nothing more, you still suck. Vision 1/5, Originality 0,2/5, Technique 0,7/5, with lots of indulgence, and Impact 0,3/5. And you should be grateful.
