What Now? by CrimsonMagpie What Now? by CrimsonMagpie
Here we have one of my personal favourite panels from Metal Whisper, a Madefire motion comic I'm working on currently. :dummy:

This image rerpresents the switch I made recently toward more comprehensively photo-referencing my work as opposed to relying solely on imagination. I used to think it cheating (), but since turning pro have come to learn that it's a very popular and sensible way of doing things. I prefer to take my own photos, helped by some understanding and generous friends who let me snap pictures of them in odd poses. Cheers, VonBrrr for posing as the guy in green!

Some of my long-term watchers might notice that I've moved from being a technophobic luddite to fully embracing digital colouring techniques.

Chapter 1 of the comic itself can be read for FREE by clicking the thumbnail below! :eager:

EDIT:
Jazzed up colours and added hand-painted cel-shading. Also fixed some anatomy issues.

Cheers John, it takes a bit of time investment at the start, but the photos do help a lot.

Nice bit of composition, especially with the colour pallet.

Cheers, I'm always conscious of making the colours too boring or naturalistic. :p

You do it well, I tend to badly balls things up when colour gets added.

It's called life, the idea of reaching a limit in any area I enjoy would terrify me.

Well said. Life should be an endless quest. :dummy:

And without a set end in mind, it's quite worrying how some people seem to have it all planned and rigidly so.

Still like this one. Still reminds me of The Walking Dead. :P

Certainly not a bad comparison at all! Adlard is a great artist. :dummy:
